Nowadays, a large number of databases have been developed gathering different types of therapeutic peptides, in particular antimicrobial peptides, antivirals, scorpion toxins peptides, thus facilitating research on structural characteristics and, pharmacologyical properties.
However, no database dedicated to disintegrins is available.
Indeed, available information related to disintegrins are either scattered or fragmented in different databases from which it becomes extremely difficult to be able to collect all the properties on a given disintegrin without having to explore distinct databases available through different websites.
Here, we propose DesintegrinDB as a novel and unique resource centralizing data related to disintegrins from snake venom.
DesintegrinDB aims to facilitate the task of research on a given disintegrin and centralize all the information on peptides derived from the venoms of vipers, helping researchers retrieving resources that are relevant to their needs.
